ONE CLIENT'S CHALLENGE
We are the Italian office of a fast-growing 'Anglo-Saxon' global real estate consultancy. Our 'start up' culture has focused on short-term financial targets and individual deal making but now we need to pursue sustainable growth Europe-wide. This means cross-selling and teamwork with other European offices. As the new Managing Director I need to help instil a new culture of cooperation while maintaining our dynamism. How can you help?
THE TCO RESPONSE
In partnership with Potencium, TCO conducted an organisational culture survey and structured interviews which showed disparities between employees' perceptions of the firm's culture and those of the MD. We then ran a series of training initiatives focusing on developing team negotiation skills, consultative selling, and team leadership. During the training we collated information on approaches to teamwork and predominant personality types to help the MD understand skills gaps. In coaching the MD, we focused on supporting him in introducing practical steps - including reward systems - to align employees' aspirations with the firm's strategic direction.
We then helped the MD develop values rooted in the real needs and aspirations of the employees.
